Charise Bryant is a youth program developer, entrepreneur, and community leader based in Akron. As the Founder and Program Director of Youth Nation Center, she leads the development of structured programs, workshops, and performance arts experiences that support youth growth, creativity, and life skills.
In addition to leading her own organization, Charise also serves as a program developer for community and nonprofit initiatives, creating engaging programs, events, and performing arts productions for broader community impact.
Most recently, she was brought in by the City of Akron to produce Back in Time: The Musical Theatrical Review, providing youth with hands-on experience in performance, storytelling, and live stage production.
Miss Bryant is grounded in the belief that every child deserves to step into their future feeling empowered and ready. Whether it’s leading affirmations, unpacking tough emotions, or celebrating achievements, she champions each child as someone full of possibility and promise.

Youth Nation Center is a youth development organization based in Akron, dedicated to providing safe, structured, and engaging programs for children and teens. Through a combination of life skills training, creative expression, and hands-on learning, the center creates opportunities for youth to build confidence, develop independence, and explore their potential.
We offer year-round support through respite services, aftercare programming, summer respite programs, and engaging workshops, all designed to keep youth active, supported, and growing in a positive environment while giving families trusted and reliable care.
Our programs serve youth ages 7 to 18, with age-specific groups including our Youth Group (ages 7–13) and Young Leaders Group (ages 14–18), ensuring each participant receives developmentally appropriate support, guidance, and opportunities to grow.
The Youth Nation Respite Summer Program is designed to support families by offering reliable, professional care in a positive environment.
While parents and caregivers take time to rest and recharge, youth participate in structured daily activities focused on learning life skills, exploring creativity, and building confidence.
Our program combines supervision, engagement, and development—so every child leaves each day with something gained.

In partnership with Youth Summit Success & Akron Public Schools, Lights, Camera, Story! is an engaging summer program for middle school students, running Monday through Friday, June 6–24 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Students will collaborate in groups to write original short stories that will be published in a collective book. They’ll also step into a real recording studio to bring their stories to life through voice recording, gaining hands-on production experience. The program will conclude with a special Author Review and Listening Party at the DoubleTree by Hilton Akron Fairlawn on Saturday, July 25, where students will proudly present their work.

In partnership with the City of Akron, Youth Nation proudly presents Back in Time: The Musical Theatrical Review—a dynamic live performance experience designed to showcase the talent and creativity of local youth.
Through a highly competitive audition process, over 300 students auditioned, with 50 students selected to participate in this exclusive production. These young performers will rehearse, develop, and prepare to take the stage as part of a live showcase featured in the Akron Labor Day Festival.
This high-energy production will take audiences on a musical time capsule journey, as students perform and reimagine iconic artists from the past to the present through vocal performance, dance, and theater.
Participants will experience the full journey of production—from auditions and rehearsals to live performance—gaining hands-on exposure to the performing arts industry.
The program will conclude with a final showcase on September 5, along with a special preview meet & greet and documentary review the week prior, highlighting each student’s journey from beginning to end.
